Hello Friends! We have had snow flurries THREE DAYS in a row and thats how you know that Christmas season is here! We hope each and every one spent some time this long weekend giving thanks for all the Lord has done.
We are thankful for so much this year.
- For each one of you that stick with us and be our cheerleaders as we continue to launch this organization.
- For our friends families and their willingness to be sacrifice for us to do this
- For the connections we have made this year and the lives we have been able to touch.
- For our God sustaining us through the mountains and valleys of the last year. So, what is going on with Covered Waters? I am glad you asked! We were kinda silent the last couple months as we navigated a tough year. Personally we each had some really challenging realities that we have had to focus on.
While we leaned on each other and our Lord during these times, Covered Waters was not in a stand still!
Because of the current realities we are facing we have had to step back a bit and figure out how Covered Waters was going to work for the next couple years. We sat down and said, “We believe Gods hand is in this organization and we are not giving up”. But we also had to look at what was realistic. This has led us to slow down a little bit and focus on what we could do while not sacrificing our families, our health, our mental well being. Part of these decisions are because we financially cannot survive on any of us giving up full time jobs to do what we want to do with Covered Waters. We keep getting rejected for grants because we do not have enough of a track record. Basically you need money to get a track record but you cant get money until you have a track record. So, 2025 is going to be made up of a series of projects. We will be filling you all in on these projects at the beginning of the year. They will consist of helping single moms with house projects, gas cards, setting up a nursery, etc. It could involve mentoring young families. It could involve coming along side foster families or biological families that have kids in foster care. And just as important, we are going to ramp up our list of resources to help anyone needing anything. Our website will reflect that by the end of the year. We want to help people face to face BUT we also want our website to be a place for people to find help. We will also bring back the fall festival and a couple fundraisers. We are so excited to be a small organization making an impact 1 person at a time! We are not giving up on our bigger dreams. We are just going to ramp up more slowly and hoping to be able get a track record to be able to get bigger grants and donations! We dream that we can eventually be paid by Covered Waters so that its impact can be so much bigger. We ask for your prayers and support as we do this. I personally felt as though we are failing and letting all of you down with these decisions. But, as I continue to pray about CW and 2025, I know this is healthy for us and we can do these little projects VERY well. I know we are going to help change lives. I know God will be glorified. Anyway, a couple things….
