Hey friends!

We have had a BIG month for Covered Waters.
- The three of us had a full-day meeting where we ate too much pizza and made strategic plans for the future… specifically 2023. Stay tuned because we have a lot planned!
- We launched our website! www.coveredwaters.org
It isn’t 100% complete and we will continue to add stuff as things get done but we are proud of it!
- We had our first board meeting! We have the most amazing group of individuals who have a wide variety of talents, passions, knowledge, and abilities. We are excited to see how they help lead our organization in an exceptional, God-honoring way!
- AND TODAY…. we turned in our 1023 paperwork. This is a huge form full of all sorts of information and a big chunk of money that we turn into the federal government. They will look it over and hopefully grant us our 501c3 non-profit status. We will have an answer somewhere between 3 months and 2 years (hahaha). We hear that the average time to hear right now is about 4 months, so we are hoping to hear something by the end of February. Prayers appreciated.

Since that is a lot of amazing news, I will leave it there for the month. We appreciate your prayers as we continue to work to get everything done. Make sure to read below to meet Katie, another member of the team!

Meet Katie!
I am so happy that you are here and get to walk every step alongside us. It’s crazy that just a year ago with started with a casual conversation in a living room. I think it’s safe to say that none of us imagined it becoming what it is this quickly but that’s just how god works!

With all that being said here is a little about me.

- I love my family! My husband and I have a daughter and a husky. We both desire to have a bigger family.

-Gardening, landscaping, and florals are where I find rest. I love seeing something that stands alone as something so beautiful come together and form something even more beautiful.

- I find so much joy in making people laugh. I’ve often been told “you laugh a lot” and it’s always received as a compliment.

- I really love serving on the worship team. I love leading people into worship and using my gifts of singing for the kingdom.

-I’m currently a stay-at-home mom and do florals and photography on the side. I have the absolute best of both worlds and I’m so thankful for the opportunity.

-I feel big feels. So you can usually expect tears if we’re having a somewhat deep conversation. I also hate crying in front of people so embracing this “gift” is something I’m working on.

-Just a short list of a few other things I love: hikes, fall, Christmas decorations, lobster and crab, all things arts and crafts, antiques, and thrifting.

Guys we can NOT wait to see what God has in store for this ministry and these women. He has made it extremely evident that he has BIG plans for this program and we ask that you buckel up and enjoy the ride with us because if it’s going to continue the way it’s been going we’re going from 0 to 60 in a very short amount of time. Thank you for believing in the Lord’s plan for us and supporting us along the way.
