Good Morning! I want to start this email with a BIG shout out to CAMP RIVERCREST! As some of you know all three of us have big ties a long history with camp and it is still one of our very favorite places! They are doing a couple BIG things for us.
1. They are hosting (free of charge) our Fall Festival!
2. We are their missions project this summer! The kiddos at camp can give part of their snack shack money, if they wish, to donate to Covered Waters. It is only the first week and we hear that the kids have been MORE than generous! Quick camp story:
Miss Mel was the speaker at camp this week, she is also one of our beloved board members. She sent me the following text earlier this week, “Campers during free time telling me how much money the donated. And then the child on the right. “I didn’t give anything. I’m very careful with my money. I only give to charities that rescue goats.”
If that doesn’t make you smile, i’m not sure what will!
But, they raised over $600 in the first camp alone! =) If you have a kid going to camp, encourage them to give! If you are heading to camp, tell the leadership THANK you for all they do for Covered Waters! So, that’s the fun news. The more boring stuff is that we are in the middle of applying for a million grants and it makes my head spin! But you can be praying that we get some grants soon! Our next event is a big garage sale in August. If you want to donate your gently used garage sale stuff to that, we would love to take it! If you already had a garage sale and don’t know where to take the stuff, we’ll take it! Make pile for us! Email Tina for more information on all of that.
